The Dot Apps was started by Sankar Arumugam after years of full-stack web, mobile app development, freelancing, product delivery and AI-enabled automation work — shipping products solo, leading development inside larger teams for global brands, and now building and running The Dot Apps end to end.
That track record spans a consultation marketplace, a nationwide B2B construction materials platform, a telehealth product, a loyalty app used by millions for a global FMCG brand, fintech wallets, healthcare commerce platforms, and more — across logistics, retail, manufacturing and robotics along the way. DOT stands for Developed On Technology: products and services shaped around the best technology available for the problem, not a single stack applied everywhere.
That path spans 10+ years in software development since 2016 — three years in full-stack web engineering, then seven years specializing in Flutter — through mobile engineering roles building fintech, healthtech and large-scale consumer apps (including Flutter development on eBay's Gumtree, live at 1M+ users), to five years as an independent Flutter developer before founding The Dot Apps in 2024.
